Biography
Andrea Emilio Rizzoli completed his Ph.D. in Computer and Automation Engineering (PhD degree in Computer Science and Control Engineering) Politecnico di Milano, Italy. 1985-1989 Degree in Electronic Engineering (MSc in Control Engineering), Automatic address, Politecnico di Milano, Italy. Senior Researcher at Istituto Dalle Molle di Studi sull’Intelligenza artificiale (IDSIA), Lugano, Switzerland. He had worked in the group led by Professor Soncini-Sessa on various water related management problems. In particular, he had contributed to the design and development of TwoLe, a two-level decision support system for the multi-objective optimisation of reservoir networks. TwoLe has bene used in various applications, most notably to the integrated management of Lake Maggiore, where it was embedded into a participatory decision making process.
Research Interest
Research interest in Decision support systems for the management of natural resources; modelling and simulation of industrial systems and supply chains; integration and re-use of simulation models.
