Biography
Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Reproductive Endocrinologist, Professor and Vice Chair for Research, Wake Forest School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, North Carolina USA. Robert Taylor received his undergraduate education at Stanford University and the combined MD-PhD at Baylor College of Medicine, where he studied the molecular biology of estrogen action. He was a resident and fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco and a post-doctoral scholar in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at UCSF. He served on the medical faculty at UCSF from 1987-2005, at Emory School of Medicine from 2005-2011, and at Wake Forest since 2011. His clinical and translational research interests include the molecular actions of estrogen and progesterone on endometrial differentiation and vascularization, the pathogenesis of endometriosis and the regulation of placental angiogenesis in preeclampsia and other pregnancy complications.
