Biography
Dr. Werner Schäfer has over 35 years experience in the diagnostic industry. His previous positions include: President and Chief Operating Officer of Behring Diagnostics USA; Director Area Operations & Scientific Development for Abbott Diagnostics; and President of the Lab Systems Business Unit at Boehringer Mannheim and later on at Roche which then had sales of $1.5 billion and a headcount of over 2'000. As part of this position he was a member of the management board of Roche Diagnostics. Dr. Schäfer is or recently was a member of the boards of Curetis, Human, Cognoptix, Signature Diagnostics, MTM Laboratories and Vivacta.
