Biography
Rodney Perkins, the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of EarLens, is a serial entrepreneur who has successfully launched many healthcare technology companies including ReSound Corporation, Laserscope, Collagen Corporation, Sound ID, Novacept, SurgRx, DFine, Pulmonx and Cohesion. As an internationally known otologic surgeon, he has created a number of surgical procedures and techniques that are widely practiced throughout the world. Dr. Perkins founded the California Ear Institute at Stanford and is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. For his visionary leadership that has led to innovation in multiple medical specialties, Dr. Perkins has received the Phoenix Hall of Fame Innovators Award, Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Santa Clara County Medical Society and the Distinguished Medical Alumnus Award from Indiana University. Dr. Perkins holds eighteen issued patents with 37 pending, received his medical degree from Indiana University, and completed his surgical residency at Stanford University School of Medicine.
