Biography
Dr. Richard H. Scheller, Ph.D. serves as an Executive Vice President of Research & Early Development at Genentech, Inc. Dr. Scheller is responsible for setting the strategy for Genentech's research and drug discovery activities. He has been the Head of Genentech Research & Early Development at Roche Holding AG since 2009. He served as the Chief Scientific Officer of Genentech Inc. since June 2008 and also served its Executive Vice President of Research since September 2003. He served as the Senior Vice President of Research of Genentech Inc., from March 2001 to September 2003. He has been a Director of Medrio, Inc. since November 2012. He serves as a Member of the Medical and Scientific Review Board of Renovis Inc. Dr. Scheller served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Intra-Cellular Therapies, Inc. and Rinat Neuroscience Corporation. He served on numerous advisory boards including the National Advisory Mental Health Council of the National Institutes of Health. He is a Member of Executive Committee at Roche Holding AG. He has published more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. His work has earned him numerous awards including the 1997 National Academy of Sciences Award in Molecular Biology.
