Bruno Gehrig

Biography

 From 1981 to 1984 Gehrig was the head of the economic department of the Swiss banking company . In 1985, he completed a year of training in international banking business. From 1988, he was head of the Department of Stock Exchanges and Securities Selling Bank of the Swiss Bank. From 1989 to 1991 he served as chairman of the management of Bank Cantrade. From 1992 to 1996, he held a professorship for business administration at the University of St. Gallen and director of the Swiss Institute for Banking and Finance at the University of St. Gallen. In 1996, Gehrig was appointed Head of the III. Departments in the Board of the Swiss National Bankwho from 2001 to 2003 he was a vice president. From 2003 to 2009 he was Chairman of the Swiss Life Insurance Group . Within the framework of his political activities, he served as President of the Economic Policy Study Group of CVP Switzerland from 1984 to 1991 . From 1992 to 1996 he was a member of the Federal Banking Commission . He was the 2006 Honorary Doctorate ( Honorary Doctorate of Laws ) awarded the University of Rochester. From November 2010 to June 2016, Gehrig was Chairman of the Swiss Board of Directors . He is also Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Roche Holding , a member of the Board of Directors of UBS and a member of the Executive Board of the Economiesuisse
