Biography
Cassandra Budlong studied at Old Dominion University in Virginia where she earned her Master’s Degree. She served for nine years in the U. S. Navy, and was actively involved in implementing the U.S. Navy’s Equal Opportunity Program on all naval facilities, ships and squadrons on the east coast of the U. S., as well as in Gitmo. After leaving the Navy, she worked as Marketing Director for two Los Angeles area shopping centers, owned by May Centers, a corporation managing shopping malls across the U.S. In Chula Vista, California she served as the Downtown Coordinator and Special Events Director and staged four major street festivals in the downtown business district each year. She also worked in Public Relations in southern California for a community hospital, a chamber of commerce, and in the city hall offices. From 1996 to 2012 she taught at an international hotel school in Switzerland lecturing in English, Intercultural Studies, Sociology, Marketing, Special Event Planning and Interpersonal Communication. She also founded and served as director of the school’s theater company, which mounted 34 productions in 14 years. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Zurich International Women’s Association and is the Editor of the association’s monthly newsletter.
