Leonie Wijn

Biography

Leonie Wijn is a lawyer and owner of Legal for Healthcare where she operates as a contract lawyer for hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and medical specialists. Legal for Healthcare is specialized in handling the contracting with pharmaceutical companies of medical research projects as well as advising on the (worldwide) rules with regard to research. Prior to Legal for Healthcare Leonie spent four years as Senior Legal counsel for the board of a group of hospitals in The Netherlands. As Legal Counsel Leonie supported the Board of Directors with broad legal advice with a focus on product and medical liability, patient-advocacy, privacy, contract negotiations and mediation. Prior to these hospitals she worked for Beer Advocaten, a prominent law firm concentrating on liability law, insurance law, personal injury and wrongful death. At Beer Advocaten Leonie was admitted to the Dutch bar association. Her tenure as an attorney was followed by Medirisk an insurance company for hospitals and medical professionals, where she worked as senior legal advisor. Leonie started her career at DAS, as legal advisor liability and insurance. DAS provides legal assistance for its policy-holders. Leonie earned a Master of Laws at Leiden University in The Netherlands. She lives in Zurich, Switzerland with her husband and three kids and spends the weekends in the Mountains hiking or skiing.
