Biography
Dr. Michael W. Pitts serves as an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, USA, where he specializes in the analysis and development of strategic planning systems. Dr. Pitts has served on the boards of five companies and as a consultant to numerous other organizations. Professionally, he has served as a reviewer for both the Journal of Managerial Issues & The Southwest Business Review, and for major publishing houses. He was the VCU liaison for Small Business Development Center and is a past vice-president of the local chapter for the Planning Forum, the international professional body for strategic management. Dr. Pitts has also served the community by consulting, either directly or indirectly, with nearly 100 companies. He has recently been selected as a Fulbright Scholar for Bratislava,Slovakia beginning in early 2012. Currently, he is focusing efforts on the strategic activities centering around piracy and counterfeiting with a primary emphasis on the European marketplace. He has also developed, and either lead or assisted, in numerous study abroad and (global) course development programs. He also has interest in the global Motorsports industry.
