Biography
Christoph Heinrich was born September 8, 1953, grew up in Thalwil (Switzerland), and studied geology and petrology at ETH Zurich. After working with the Australian minerals industry for a short time he returned to ETH to complete a Ph.D on Alpine high pressure metamorphism. During two years of post-doctoral research at the CSIRO in Sydney he moved into ore deposit geology, and then held a research position as economic geologist and hydrothermal geochemist at the Australian Geological Survey Organisation until 1994, with a concurrent association as a Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University in Canberra.
