Biography
Since August 2008 Harald Fischer-Tiné has been full Professor for the History of the Modern World at ETH Zurich. harald fischer tine Harald Fischer-Tiné is Chair of History of the Modern World at ETH Zurich. He was Professor of History at the Jacobs University Bremen from 2006 to 2008; before that, from 2000 to 2006, he was Senior Research Assistant at the Humboldt University in Berlin. He obtained his PhD and habilitation in 2000 and 2007 respectively, from the University of Heidelberg. In 2012, he was Fellow in Residence at the Lichtenberg Kolleg of the University of Göttingen. At ETH Zurich, Harald Fischer-Tiné currently chairs the committee for Compulsory Elective Courses (Studiendirektor GESS-Pflichtwahlfach) at the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences (D-GESS), and is a board member of the GESS department (Departementsausschuss D-GESS).
