Biography
Horst Knörrer has been full Professor in the Mathematics Department of the ETH Zurich since October 1987. Born on July 31, 1953 in Bayreuth (Germany). Undergraduate studies 1971-1975 in Erlangen and Regensburg. Graduate study 1975-1978 in Bonn. Ph.D. in Bonn 1978 with a dissertation on ""Isolated Singularities of Intersections of two Quadrics"". Assistant in Bonn between 1978 and 1985. Project medewerker at Leiden University (Netherlands) from 1980 to 1982. Habilitation in Bonn 1985. Heisenberg fellow 1985-1987. Since 1975 visits to universities and research institutes in many countries.
