Biography
Kevin Schawinski has been an Assistant Professor of the Astrophysics of Galaxies and Black Holes (Professorship by the Swiss National Science Foundation SNFS) in the Physics Department since 2012. He was born in Zurich in 1981. Kevin Schawinski studied Mathematics and Physics at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA, from 2000 to 2004. He obtained his D.Phil. from Oxford University, UK, in 2008. He remained in Oxford to work at Balliol College as a Henry Skynner Junior Research Fellow until 2008. He then transferred to Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA, to work as a researcher from 2008 to 2012, first as a postdoc and later as a NASA Einstein Fellow.
