Biography
Reto Brun is an Academician in the Organisational Entity of Parasite Chemotherapy Unit. His Past professional activities include 1974-1976: Postdoctoral fellow at the University of California Irvine, USA1976- 1987: Senior scientist in the Protozoology group at Swiss Tropical Institute; many stays in East Africa 1987-2000: Head of the Protozoology group and coordinator of the PARACHEM programme at Swiss Tropical Institute 2000-2013: Head of the Parasite Chemotherapy Unit at Swiss TPH 2014-2017: Senior research scientist and Publications are Over 560 original peer-reviewed publications and 17 book chapters with H-Index=60.
Research Interest
His Professional activities at Swiss TPH include In vitro cultivation of African trypanosomes and other protozoans of medical or veterinary importance Control and epidemiology of drug resistance of African trypanosomes Discovery and preclinical development of new drugs against parasitic protozoa (in particular malaria and human African trypanosomiasis)
