Biography
Responsible for relations with regional office focal points as well as arranging meetings of the Standing Committee and supporting the partnerships and governance manager. Flora has worked at TDR since February 2008, having previously served in administrative or secretarial roles at several other WHO clusters. Her career started in Tanzania and the Kagera River Basin, after which she joined the Department of Timber & Agriculture at the European Commission. Educated in Tanzania, the UK and Kenya, Flora speaks Swahili, English and several other languages. She is driven by challenges and the associated sense of achievement, and one of her highlights while at TDR has been to administer TDR grantees and the Career Development Fellowship Programme. “It was a very challenging yet enriching and gratifying experience to contribute to the training of these gifted students”. Flora believes that it is important to have a good and genuine team spirit, with easy communication within the team and the organization as a whole. She is keen to do whatever she can in order to see the impact of TDR’s work on global health.
