Biography

Prof. em. Dr. Silvio Decurtins has done Chemistry Study at the University of Zurich and Ph.D. At the University of Bern, Switzerland; Postdoctoral Research Fellow: Oregon State University, USA Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany (Humboldt Fellow) ETH Zurich, Polymer Institute, Switzerland University of Lancaster, UK Industrial Research Position in Polymer Chemistry, Switzerland Habilitation Study: University of Zurich, Switzerland Professor (OP) at the University of Berne Visiting Professor at the University of Paris (Jussieu) in 2002 and at the Universities of Angers and Rennes, France in 2005

Research Interest

The fundamental objective of our work is to design, synthesize and characterize new materials for which different physical properties such as magnetism, electrical conductivity, photophysical properties, etc. are combined in a synergistic way. Thereby, the field of molecular electronics plays a crucial role.
