Research Interest
Our lab started in 2007 when Niko Geldner joined the Department of Plant Molecular Biology at the University of Lausanne as an Assistant Professor. Currently, the major topic of the laboratory is the investigation of the root endodermis; its differentiation and function. The laboratory is located in the Biophore building at the beautiful Dorigny campus on the shores of lake Geneva (lac Léman). The Department of Plant Molecular Biology (DBMV) is the biggest plant department in Switzerland, after that of the University of Zürich. The Department is part of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine that is spread over different locations in Lausanne. The Dorigny campus provides a very dynamic research environment and hosts many of the fundamental science labs of the Faculty and is neighbor to the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), one of the two Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology.
