Schaerli Yolanda of the Master of Science in Medical Biology hosted by the University of Lausanne.Faculty of Biology and Medicine. Ludwig Lausanne Branch Function (s): Assistant Professor.
Research Interest
My research focusses on the general design principles of gene regulatory networks. Examples of questions I am asking are: In how many different ways can one task be achieved by different gene regulatory networks? What are the mechanisms of the different solutions? Do we find all these networks in nature? How do they evolve? How robust are they? To answer these questions, I build gene regulatory networks using the tools of synthetic biology and analyse them with a combination of wet lab experiments and computational modelling.
