Biography
Jan Marco Leimeister holds an MBA (Diplom-Ökonom, majoring in Information Systems) and a doctorate (with distinction) in Information Systems from the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany, for his work on ’Systematic development, implementation and operation of virtual communities’. From 2004 to 2008, he worked as assistant professor (Habilitand) at the Computer Science Department of TUM - Technische Universität München, Munich, Germany. In 2008 he received his postdoctoral lecture qualification (habilitation) for his work on hybrid value creation in the health economy. In 2008, Leimeister was appointed as full professor and Chair for Information Systems at Kassel University and in 2012 joined the Institute for Information Management at the University of St. Gallen. He continues both appointments part-time. Leimeister is helping companies and organizations as coach, consultant, speaker and he serves on advisory and management boards.
