Biography
Prof. Christian M. Spaulding, M.D. Ph.D, FESC, FACC, is a Worldwide Vice President of Medical Affairs of Cordis Corporation since June 1, 2010. He is a Professor of Cardiology at Paris-Descartes University and Director of the Interventional Cardiology Department at European Hospital Georges Pompidou since 2012. As a Director of Interventional Cardiology Department, Prof. Spaulding trains and supervises medical students, fellows and residents in general cardiology and French and international residents in interventional cardiology. He increased the number of interventional procedures by 16% in 2013, performed over 500 procedures yearly as first operator in 2012 and 2013 and supervised 900 percutaneous coronary intervention and 2.500 coronary angiography procedures per year. His team included 8 interventional cardiologists and over 30 nurses and technicians. Prof. Spaulding held the same position at Cochin Hospital, Paris, France from 1991 to 2010. He was a Worldwide Vice President Medical Affairs at Cordis, in charge of Global Medical Affairs. Prof. Spaulding is a Advisory Board Member - Healthcare at WCTI Partners. He serves as a Member of Medical Advisory Board of Xeltis AG. Prof. Spaulding served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Stentys S.A.S. since October 27, 2009 until July 2015. He serves as a Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Cochin Hospital and professor of medicine at Rene Descartes University, both located in Paris, France. Prof. Spaulding received training as a visiting resident at the Montreal Heart Institute in Canada in 1988 and as senior resident in coronary angiography and angioplasty at the Clinique Pasteur, in Toulouse France in 1989. He has published over 100 papers in peer reviewed journals, and served as principal investigator in numerous international trials of novel devices and methods of treatment.
