Biography
Dr Geoffrey Gurtner is Professor of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and, by courtesy, Professor of Bioengineering at Stanford University School of Medicine. Further roles at Stanford University include memberships of Bio-X, Cardiovascular Institute and Stanford Cancer Institute. Gurtner’s Lab is currently interested in understanding the mechanism of new blood vessel growth, following injury and how pathways of tissue regeneration and fibrosis interact in wound healing. Gurtner has over 200 publications to his name and is actively involved in clinical trials. His professional education spans over a decade and includes Board Certification of both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery, American Board of Surgery, fellowships at MD Anderson Cancer Center and New York University Med Centre.
