Biography
After studying economics and social sciences at the University of Cologne, Dr. Norbert Thom completed his retirement in about 40 years 2012 a complete scientific career at four universities (Cologne, Giessen, Freiburg / CH, Berne). In Bern, Norbert Thom was the founder and director of the Institute for Organization and Human Resources (1991 to 2012); he took on parallel responsibility in further university offices, eg as vice-rector for finance and planning. For his scientific achievements, Norbert Thom received awards from Germany and abroad, among others three honorary doctorates (Dr. h. C.mult.) And an honorary professor (Prof. h .c.). For many years, Norbert Thom has maintained close contacts with industry. In addition to consultancy work and the involvement in advisory boards, he assumed responsibility in several administrative boards of non-listed, non-commercial companies and insignificant for the business activities of the Ypsomed Group. Today, he is still associated with the University of Bern as a professor emeritus, in particular as a supervisor and expert in the Executive Master program for Health Administration. In addition, he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the REHAU Group (Muri near Berne) since 2012, which is active worldwide in the plastics sector.
