Biography

Dr. Adelheid Kratzer completed her biochemistry studies at Graz University of Technology and her doctoral thesis at the Medical University of Graz in Austria. In 2012 she began a postdoctoral fellowship in the research group of Prof. Ulf Landmesser at the Center for Molecular Cardiology in Zurich. Dr. Scratches investigated the differences in caspase-1 recruiting inflammasome, their activation and regulation in monocyte subgroups in patients with stable coronary heart disease and acute coronary syndrome (myocardial infarction). Among other things, she investigated the influence of non-coding microRNAs and high-density lipoproteins (HDL) on the regulation and activation of these subgroups and the inflammasome. In this context, Dr. Scratches - supported by the Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) of the University of Zurich - to develop a screening of the various subgroups on miRNA and mRNA based on the latest sequencing technologies. Since November 2014 Dr. Scratch as a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Landmessers research group at the Campus Benjamin Franklin of the Charité Berlin.
