Biography
Masato Eto studied at the University of Tokyo and received further training in internal medicine. In 2002, with a grant from the Japanese Foundation for Aging Research, he joined the Department of Cardiovascular Research at the Institute of Physiology, specializing in the regulation of tissue factor in endothelial cells. Thus, he opened a new research area of cardiovascular research in Zurich, which today occupies a prominent place. In particular, his work on the role of the RhoA-ROCK pathway for the regulation of tissue factor expression has received much attention and cited. In 2005 Masato Eto returned to Japan, where he now works at the University of Tokyo Graduate School as Associate Professor of Geriatric Medicine.
