Biography

René Wenzel studied medicine in Essen and then continued his education in internal medicine and nephrology. 1995 - 1996 he worked in the research group of Prof. Georg Noll in cardiovascular research of cardiology at Inselspital Bern. René Wenzel was able to publish first work on the effect of endothelin antagonists in human skin and in the coronary circulation in circulation and hypertension and also to characterize the effect of calcium antagonists and an ACE inhibitor on the sympathetic activity of patients with arterial hypertension. René Wenzel has subsequently qualified as a senior physician at the University of Essen with this work in internal medicine, especially nephrology, and in 2001 was elected chief physician internal medicine in Zell am See in Austria.
