Biography

Richard Kobza studied at the University of Zurich until 1995, where he also obtained his doctorate in 1996. The training as a specialist in internal medicine (2002) and cardiology (2004) took place at the District Hospital Muri (AG), the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital, the University Hospital Zurich and the Heart Center of the University of Leipzig. He was trained as an interventional electrophysiologist at the Heart Center of the University of Leipzig. He continued his research on cardiac arrhythmias after his return to Switzerland. On 1 January 2010 he was appointed head physician at the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital. His clinical focus is on the interventional treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. In March 2011, the University of Zurich awarded Richard Kobza Venia legendi as Associate Professor of Cardiology.
