Biography
Tim Haufschild completed his training as a physician in Germany, the USA and Switzerland and subsequently turned to basic research in the Laboratory for Ocular Pharmacology and Physiology at the University Eye Clinic Basel under the direction of Prof. Ivan Haefliger and Prof. Josef Flammer. As part of this work, he also worked very closely with the Laboratory of Vascular Physiology at the Center for Teaching and Research (ZLF) of the University Hospital Basel under the direction of Prof. Thomas F. Lüscher. In this context, he pursued projects on the importance of nitric oxide and the endothelin-1 peptide of the eye circulation with a focus on the study of glaucoma. Following his specialist training, he worked for several years as a senior physician at the University Eye Clinic Basel and now in a practice group there.
