Vincent Richard studied Pharmacology in Rouen and continued his education under Prof. Christian Thuillez. In 1988 he worked in Cardiovascular Research of the Department of Cardiology at the University Hospital in Basel and published widely acclaimed papers on the role of Nitric Oxide in large and small coronary vessels. In 1995, a short sabbatical in Basel led to a much-read work that characterized the role of nitric oxide in flow-dependent vasodilation in human forearm circulation using ultrasound and Doppler. With almost 800 citations, the work published in the Circulation is one of the most cited scientific papers in this field. Vincent Richard is now Professor of Pharmacology at the Université de Rouen in France.
