Biography

Walter Häfeli studied medicine in Basel and subsequently advanced to a specialist in internal medicine and clinical pharmacology at the Department of Internal Medicine of the Cantonal Hospital of Basel. He worked from 1990 to 1992 in clinical pharmacology at Stanford University in the United States in the field of venous-venous venous-venous regulation. He returned to the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at the University Hospital Basel under Prof. Thomas F. Lüscher in 1993 and completed his habilitation in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Basel. In 1995 he was appointed Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Director of the Clinic by the University of Heidelberg.
