Biography
Zhihong Yang studied medicine in Wuhan, People's Republic of China, and in 1987 received a Federal Scholarship from the Swiss Confederation for further education in Switzerland. At the University of Basel, he subsequently became Research Assistant in the Group Vascular Physiology (Head of Prof. Thomas F. Lüscher) and later Senior Assistant of Cardiovascular Research at the Institute of Physiology at the University of Zurich. As an associate of cardiovascular research in Basel, Berne and Zurich, Zhihong Yang has developed tremendously in scientific terms and has published in the best journals of medicine and science. In 1999 he habilitated at the University of Zurich in the field of cardiovascular physiology, and in 2001 he was appointed professor of physiology by the University of Friborg.
