Ru-band Lu

Biography

Distinguished Professor Ru-Band Lu, in 1981 and 1982, he was a research fellow in Clinical Psychopharmacology, Texas Research Institute of Mental Science, Houston, Texas, and got clinical psychopharmacologist in USA. 1982 to 1992, he worked on the psychoendocrinology and psychopharmacology. He became professor in the National Defense Medical University in 1989. Since 1992 to 1993, he was a visiting research scientist in Human Genetics at Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA. He studied molecular genetics and psycho-neuroimmune pharmacology. From 2003 to 2009, he was the director of the Institute of Behavioral Medicine and the chairman of the Department of Psychiatry, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan as well as a distinguished professor from 2005 till now. 2003 to 2005, he was the president of Taiwanese Society of Psychiatry. In this decade, he works in sub-classification and developmental navel treatment model of major mental illness. His other academic award in the past ten years includes the Lifetime Academic Achievement Award from the Taiwanese Society of Psychiatry, the best paper this year, NCKU, Collage of Medicine, K.T. Lee Science and Humane Award – Gold Medal. He has published more than two hundred and fifty research articles in the recent fifteen years.
