Chung- Chih Wu

Biography

Dr. Chung-chih Wu (吳忠幟)received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University in 1990, and the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Princeton University in 1994 and 1997, respectively. From 1990 to 1992, he was an ensign instructor at R.O.C. Naval Communication and Electronics School, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. From 1997 to 1998, he was with the Electronic Research and Service Organization in the Industry Technology Research Institute (ERSO/ITRI), Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, as a researcher in the division of flat panel display. In 1998, he joined the faculty of National Taiwan University in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Graduate Institute of Photonics and Optoelectronics, and Graduate Institute Electronics Engineering, where he is currently Distinguished Professor (特聘教授) of NTU. His current research interests include organic semiconductors and devices, oxide semiconductors and devices, flexible and transprent TFTs, flat panel displays, and nano science and technologies. Dr. Wu is the reciepient of 2001 NTU Outstanding Teaching Award (2001台灣大學教學優良獎), 2003 Dr. Wu Da-You Research Award, National Science Council (2003 åœ‹ç§‘會吳大猷先生紀念獎), 2003 Outstanding Paper Award, Far Eastern Y.Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation (2003有庠科技論文獎), 2003 Outstanding Young Electrical Engineer Award of Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering (2003中國電機工程師學會,優秀青年電機工程師), 2004 Academia Sinica Research Award for Junior Scholars (2004中研院年輕學者研究著作獎), 2004 NTU Outstanding Research Acheivement Award (93年度台灣大學研究成就獎/傅斯年獎), Outstanding Innovation Award, Industrial Technology Research Institute (2004 工研院傑出創新獎), 2006, 2009 and 2012 Distinguished Research Award, National Science Council (95、98、101年度國科會傑出研究獎), 2007 and 2010 NTU Distinguished Research Achievement Award (96及99年度台灣大學傑出研究成就獎), 2011 Distinguished Electrical Engineering Professor, Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering (2011中國電機工程學會傑出電機工程教授), 2011 Thomson Reuters Research Front Award (2011湯森路透卓越科學研究獎). Dr. Wu was elected as one of  Top 10 Rising Stars in Taiwan (Science and Technology) by Central News Agency in 2005 (2005年台灣十大潛力人物-科技學術類, 財團法人中央通訊社).
