Biography
After completing her undergraduate studies at NTU and acquired her Master degrees at NTU and Harvard Law School, Professor Wang-Ruu Tseng received her Ph.D. from the University of London. Professor Tseng is a qualified attorney in Taiwan, specializing in company law, securities regulation, financial services and markets regulations, negotiable instruments, and conflict of laws. She has published numerous books in the above-mentioned fields, such as “Corporate Governance and Capital Market (I)” (2002, 2007), “Corporate Governance and Capital Market (II)” (2008), “Corporate Management, Shareholders and Creditors” (2008), “Reconstructing the Fundamentals of Company Law” (2011), and “The Principles of Securities Regulation” (2000, 2008), and also authored books in collaboration with other reputable scholars. Her articles have been published by the academic journals of TSSCI as well. In recent 5 years Professor Tseng’s articles and books have been granted with Award of NTU Excellent Journal and Outstanding Books many times, and she also received Award of Excellent Scholar both in Teaching and Research. She participated in many government-sponsored corporate law and securities regulation projects; her research projects have always been sponsored by the National Science Council. She has been honored of Excellent Teacher of NTU many times and Outstanding Teacher of NTU twice (2004, 2011). Professor Tseng is the government appointed director of the Taiwan Stock Exchange. Professor Tseng’s research and consulting recently have focused on corporate governance, the division of powers among corporate organs, and articles of association, the protection of company creditors and civil liabilities as regards frauds in the securities market. Professor Tseng offers and teaches courses at NTU Law School, including general principles on commercial law and corporation, securities and exchange law, seminar on the capital market regulations, seminar on the Financial Services and Markets regulations, seminar on the securities regulation, negotiable instruments law, and conflict of laws.
