Biography
Dr. William Kerns, has over 25 years of experience in Drug Discovery and Development. In addition to his role at Sphaera Pharma, he is the CEO of Accellient Partners LLC. Dr. Kerns has held senior executive positions in Preclinical Development at SmithKlineFrench, SmithKlineBeecham and Eisai Pharma. He received his undergraduate degree at Wilmington College, medical training in Veterinary Medicine and graduate work in Pharmacology and Pathology at The Ohio State University. Dr. Kerns successfully completed examination by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. During his tenure in the pharmaceutical industry, he has cultivated a wealth of experience in drug development strategies, pharmacology, toxicology, expedited strategies to get compounds to Phase I clinical trials and broad IND to NDA experience with small molecule and protein therapeutics. He is an expert in cardiovascular toxicology and pharmacology. Dr. Kerns is active in many professional organizations serving in numerous leadership roles in industry and governmental bodies.
