Biography
Dr. Guo has over 25 years of research and development experience in the U.S. pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining TLC, Dr. Guo pursued a successful career at the Alza and Johnson & Johnson. As an industrial scientist/manager, he has managed various research and development programs in the areas of anti-cancer, anti-infectious and anti-inflammatory diseases. Dr. Guo has taken part in the early development and commercialization of liposomal drug delivery system. His contributions include the development of two commercial products which are currently marketed in the U.S. and worldwide — a parenteral lipid-based amphotericin B formulation for the treatment of system mycosis and the world's first long-circulating liposomal product for the treatment of cancer. Furthermore, Dr. Guo has managed several company-funded research programs with numerous U.S. and international academic institutions. Dr. Guo authored over 40 scientific publications and is the inventor of 5 U.S. patents.
Research Interest
Dr. Guo earned a Ph.D. in Lipid Biochemistry from the University of Guelph, Guelph, Canada and completed his postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley.
