Charlotte Holmes

Biography

I work as a Food Development Scientist in the Product Innovation team at Campden BRI. I support companies through a range of activities including the development of new products, resolving technical enquiries and technical projects. I'm dedicated to supporting a client, no matter what size, to find the right solution for them. I also worked as part of the Food and Health Innovation Service; a large and hugely valuable project to support Scottish food companies 1:1 in developing innovative healthy food and drink products. I also lead Campden BRI's contribution to the EU PRECIOUS project. PRECIOUS is a project with the aim of developing a preventative health care system based on ubiquitous sensing, to aid a user improve their long term health and deliver a public sector cost saving.

Research Interest

I managed and assessed customer complaints to ensure an appropriate investigation was carried out to determine the root cause in a timely manner. The outcomes of the investigation where then provided to the customer. I also project managed several surveillance projects looking at a range of potentially high risk food issues that could affect Sainsbury’s products. Further to this I continued to develop the analytical work I started during my placement to further develop suitable quality tolerances for a range of products. I also worked on the development of a quality management system for the analytical aspect of the laboratory.
