Research Interest

Karim-Aly works closely with Central Asian scholars and scientists researching the complex connectivity of human and environmental relations, and indigenous approaches to food security, sustainable livelihoods, climate change and pluralism in the Pamirs. With UCA as a partner, Karim-Aly and his team are developing an internet-based curriculum on research topics for 10 universities globally to link students from the Pamir region to those at various universities around the world, including Cornell, Beijing University and UCA. Karim-Aly has published widely, including recent articles in the journals “Human Ecology and Ecology and Society”.
