Research Interest
Kathryn researches regional labor market development and the impact of emigration and return migration on families and communities in Central Asia, using UCA campus sites as case studies. She has published extensively on economic development in Central Asia, including a book co-authored with Richard Pomfret, “Consequences of Creating a Market Economy: Evidence from Household Surveys in Central Asia” (2003).
