Biography
has been practicing rheumatology in San Diego and the Imperial Valley since 2004. “Dr. D,” as he is known to his patients, comes from a long family line of health care providers, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and two uncles. His enthusiasm, compassion and love for rheumatology are greater today than ever before. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in psychobiology in 1991 and his M.D. in 1995, both from the University of Southern California. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in rheumatology, at the University of California, San Diego between 1995 and 2000, when he received his rheumatology board certification. He has enjoyed the clinical practice of rheumatology as well as his participation in scores of rheumatology related clinical studies. He has served as chairman of the Arthritis Foundation San Diego chapter executive committee following years of volunteering at the previously sponsored free clinics, and more recently as part of the San Diego County Medical Foundation’s Project Access. He is privileged to be a consultant and speaker for various pharmaceutical companies. He is an avid traveler and an aspiring gastronome.
