Biography

Aran Singanayagam is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Respiratory Medicine working in the Airway Disease Infection section at the National Heart and Lung Institute. He completed his PhD 'Effect of inhaled corticosteroids on viral and bacterial infection in COPD' in 2014. His current research focusses on lung host-defence against respiratory viruses and bacteria in the context of chronic lung diseases. Dr Singanayagam has received early career investigator awards from the British Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society. He is a member of the British Thoracic Society Science and Research Committee and the European Respiratory Society Long Range planning Committee.
