Biography
After graduating from Marmara University Medical School in 2003, Dr. Volkan Ozben completed his residency in the Department of General Surgery, Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty in 2010. During his medical education and residency, Dr. Ozben worked in several surgery and emergency clinics in London. He completed national health service in Surmene from 2010 through 2012. Then, he worked as an observer in the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Cleveland Clinic, USA in 2012 with the scholarship he obtained after achieving the first rank in the Turkish Surgical Association Board Exams, and then, as a research fellow in the same clinic in 2014 with the scholarship from the Turkish Society for Fight against Cancer. Following his abroad experience, he was assigned as an instructor in the Department of General Surgery, Acibadem University, Medical School in 2016. His special areas of interest include colorectal surgery, minimally invasive / robotic surgery, medical education, database administration and medical research. He has a considerable number of publications in national and international medical journals and plays an active role in guiding medical students in scientific research activities.
