Burak KaracaÖren

Biography

Burak Karacaören received his B.Sc. degree in Animal Science (Faculty of Agriculture) and M.Sc. in Biometry and Genetics (Institute of Natural Sciences) from Akdeniz University, Antalya, Turkey in 1999 and 2001 respectively. He spent 6 months in As, Agricultural University of Norway, Norway about animal production and statistics. He received his Dr.Sc.degree in Statistical Animal Genetics Group (Institute of Animal Sciences) from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich), Switzerland at 2006. As a part of his doctorate studies he spent 2 months in INRA Paris, France. He was a post doctoral researcher at the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK in Genetics and Genomics department and at the Laurentian Forestry Institute, University of Laval, Quebec, Canada in forestry genomics in 2008-2010 and 2010-2011 respectively. Currently he is an associate professor in Biometry and Genetics Section, Department of Animal Science at Akdeniz University, Turkey. His main research interests are in statistical methods applied to genetics, genomics and animal breeding.
