Biography
Prof. Dr. İbrahim ÖZKOL was born in 1962 in Izmir. He started his undergraduate studies in Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Department of Aeronautical Engineering and completed his master's and doctoral studies in the same department. His academic career has been interrupted for 15 months between 1992 and 1993 for the duties given by the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (UDI) regarding the projects "CASA-3000" and "CN-235" in Spain. He continued his career in the academic world, that he returned in 1996 and received the title "Professor" in 2005. Prof. Dr. İbrahim ÖZKOL has been serving as the Vice Rector of Istanbul Technical University, as well as teaching staff in the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He has worked as project executive and researcher in many projects supported by UDI and TÜBİTAK. Prof. Dr. İbrahim ÖZKOL is also the founder of ITU Air Transport Management Master Program, which was first established in the universities of Turkey in 2013. Prof. Dr. İbrahim ÖZKOL was elected as an Independent Member of the Board of Directors at the ASELSAN Ordinary General Assembly Meeting held on 15 March 2017 and was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Board Meeting held on the same day. He is married and has two children.
