Sedat Örsel

Biography

He produced TV dramas and documentaries as TV Producer in the earliest team of TRT that started first TV broadcasting in Turkey in 1968. He founded TRT’s Staff Training Centre, TRT-INT, Avrasya TV Channels, Sales and Coproductions Department and sold TRT’s TV productions to more than 50 countries at The International Film Markets in several years. He worked as Producer, Co-producer, Director, Teacher, Program Controller, Director of Cultural Programs Dept., Programme Manager, Head of TV Department and Acting Deputy General Manager of TRT in 25 years, until he retired in 1992. At the same time he was the Instructor of “Radio-TV Management” courses at Gazi, Ankara and Başkent Universities, and Senior Lecturer at The Staff Training Centre of TRT. In 1992, he became General Coordinator of The Alo Bilgi Group, changed than to The Koç Holding for the period 1993-1996 as the founding General Manager of EKO TV (Now CNN-Türk). He is fulI time Instructor of “Media Management” and “Careers in TV” Courses at the Faculty of Communication of İstanbul Bilgi University since 1998, and part time Instructor of “Media Industries” courses at Bilkent University. He won 13 prizes including “Sedat Simavi ” and “The Most Succesful Bureucrat of the Year”. He represented Turkey and TRT at EBU, ABU, Eureka Audiovisual and ESCC.
