Abdülkadir Özcan

Biography

He is born on May 30, 1948 in the district of Milas, Mugla. In 1972, he completed the Istanbul University Faculty of Literature with his thesis under the title of "Åžeyhî Mehmed Efendi-Vekayi al-fudalâ". Between 1974-1977, he worked as a civil servant at the Central Library of Istanbul University. In 1977 he won his assistantship test. He continued his Ph.D. studies at the Department of History of Ottoman Institutions and Civilization History. "Defterdar Sarı Mehmed Pasha, Zübde-i Vekayiat, Analysis and Text" was awarded a doctoral title on May 6th, 1980. In 1983 he became assistant professor. In 1986-1987 academic year, he became a lecturer at Marmara University Atatürk Education Faculty. He became an assistant professor on 2 November 1987. At the beginning of 1988-89 academic year, Mimar Sinan University was transferred to the Department of History of Science and Literature and served as deputy for a term here. He received his professorship title on April 14, 1993. During 2000-2001 education and training year, he was a member of the Turkish History Department and lecturer at Hoca Ahmed Yesevi International Turkish-Kazakh University.
