Biography
Born in 1971 in Silivri, Istanbul. He completed his primary and secondary education in Silivri and his graduate degree in Edirne. In 1994 he graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, English International Relations Department. He graduated from Marmara University in 2001 with a thesis entitled "A Historical Overview of Azerbaijani Turkism: From Russian Azerbaijan to Democratic Republic (1918-1920)" in the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the Institute of Social Sciences. Between 1993-2002 he held various positions in foreign trade and finance sector. In 2010, Marmara University received a doctorate degree with a thesis entitled " The Application of Tanzimat in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1839-1875)" in the History of Turkish History, History of Modern Turkish History, Turkic Studies Research Institute. In 2010-12 he gave lectures on Ottoman History as guest lecturer in Department of Political Science and International Relations of Marmara University. Since January 2012, Fatih Sultan Mehmet is a faculty member of the History Department of the Foundation University. 19th century Balkan history, Ottoman reform movements, history of Ottoman diplomacy, Ottoman social and economic history.
