Biography
In 1951 he was born in the village of Guides, affiliated to the Karamanlı district of Burdur. The primary school finished in the village. He graduated from the Burdur Imam Hatip School in 1970 and from the Institute of Higher Islam in Konya in 1974. After completing his military service, he was a teacher at Erzurum-Narman High School in 1976-1977 school year. In the same academic year, he won the examination of assistantship and was appointed as Siyer and History of Islamic History assistant at the Istanbul Islamic Institute. In 1982, this institution, transformed into Marmara University Faculty of Divinity, completed his doctorate in 1983 with his work " Scientific Movement in the Umayyads Period ". He became associate professor in 1991 and professor in 1998. He worked for 34 years in this institution, where he worked for a while as deputy of the Faculty. In March 2011, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University was appointed as a faculty member of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences after a period of tranquility. He is still in this position.
