Burcu Balam Yavuz
Dr. Burcu Balam Yavuz was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1975. She completed her primary secondary and highschool education at TED Ankara College. She graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1999. Dr. Yavuz got her Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine Specialist degrees from Hacettepe University at years 2004 and 2009. She studied at McMaster University Division of Geriatric Medicine as an observer for four months in 2008-2009. She got her Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine degree in 2012. Dr. Yavuz is a founder member and board member of Academic Geriatrics Society. She is an associate editor of The Journal of Academic Geriatrics and an associate editor of the Turkish textbook Geriatrics and Gerontology. She paticipated in state planning organization projects. Dr. Yavuz has more than 50 articles published in national and international journals. She is married and a mother of two children. Research interests of Dr. Yavuz are geriatric syndromes especially cognitive dysfunction, dementia, and impact of vascular factors on cognition.
