Biography

Born in 1961. Graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Dentistry at 1984. Started his PhD thesis study at 1988 in Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He made his doctorate study on “Maxillofacial surgery on children under general anesthesia”. He studied advanced dental implant surgery in Copenhagen, University Hospital (Rigshospitalet), Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He became Associate Professor In1994, Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2000. Because of his international scientific studies he receives a certificate of appreciation from Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1998. He is the chief editor of Turkish Dentistry Journal group and consultant of The British Dental Journal. He is a member of national and international professional associations such as Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Turkish Association of Oral Surgery, Turkish Dental Association and The International Association Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He presided over Turkish Dentistry Journal International Scientific Congress at 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and International Dental Istanbul Dentistry Congress at 2007, 2008 and 2012. Besides being a founding member of Istanbul University School of Physical Training and Sports, he has a great number of scientific studies presented in domestic and international congresses, text book and studies which are presented as conferences.

Research Interest

Advance oral n maxillofacial surgery as well as stem cells, advanced implant applications and surface properties of implantology and implant morphologies are his main are of interests.
