Biography
In 2004, he completed his undergraduate studies at Beykent University, Business and International Relations Departments. In 2006, he completed his master's degree program at Koç University, International Relations Department. Alptekin, who continued his postgraduate studies at the Political Science Department of the University of Utah between 2006 and 2008, completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Texas-Austin, Department of Political Science in 2010. He completed his Ph.D. in thesis titled "Explaining Ethnopolitical Mobilization: Ethnic Incorporation and Mobilization Patterns in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Turkey, and Beyond" written by the University of Texas at Austin in the Department of Political Science in 2014.
